1. Glam Rock at NYFW

If there was ever a show to watch from this year's New York Fashion Week - I think this is this one. At this point DVF can do no wrong and this show was no exception. Deemed "Glam Rock" it will make you want throw on a fabulous frock and party party party. The super 70's inspiration is fantastic, and the hues of burnt orange and red are rich and sumptuous.

2. Cucumber martinis

OK, lets be honest - don't these sound disgusting? Like why would you want cucumber in a martini? At first I really really thought this too. But on a random weekend visiting Chicago last year, a waitress convinced me to give it a try. She actually sold it to me by saying it was "refreshing". Now I've heard vodka called a lot of things but never refreshing. But I decided to go for it, and man was I happy I did. The drink actually IS refreshing.. but not only that, its smooth and delicious. A few more cucumber martinis later - and I'm a really big fan.

I have no idea how to make this drink but I know the ones I've had were made with Effen Cucumber vodka -  here is an interesting rendition that might be good.







3. Central Park in the snow

This weekend we had a pretty big snowstorm in NYC that dumped about a foot of snow on our crazy little city. The husband and I went for a long walk through Central Park the next day - and it seemed that all of manhattan had the same idea. The park was so beautiful in the snow - it was almost dazzling. The sun hit the snow from every angle making it sparkle. And everywhere you went you could hear the sound of children laughing as they went sledding down the many hills in the park.
